What is Mint Trim?
Mint Trim is a small handmade jewelry company specializing in Sterling Silver and semi-precious gemstone creations. My focus is on creating affordable high-quality pieces that are also modern, with clean lines, and interesting details. I love natural stones and interesting color combinations, and strive to create one of a kind jewelry that is eye-catching without being gaudy.
I make all my creations by hand in my home studio, although sometimes I may incorporate handmade items that were created by other talented craftsmen. Whenever I use pieces that were also handmade, I always credit the person or company responsible, so that my customers have the opportunity to shop with those craftsmen as well!
I take great pride in the quality of my workmanship. All of my wire-wrapped jewelry has been inspected many times to make sure it meets my high standards for beauty and consistency.
My products make wonderful one-of-a-kind gifts for your loved ones. Handmade jewelry has a unique allure, guaranteed to make an impression on your special someone. Get them a gift that no one else can duplicate. Every order comes with a lovely gift box made from partially recycled paper, topped off with a custom MintTrim stamp and minty green ribbon.

Do you do any shows?
Yes, I can do both home-shows and craft fairs with other artisans. For home shows in the Washinton DC Metro area, please contact Jennifer to discuss hosting. The ideal format for a home show is a no-pressure, browsing party, where your friends can stop by for a little while, have some snacks, and possibly buy something. I give 5% of show sales to the hostess as MintTrim credit.
I also do craft shows in the DC Area. My next show is with EtsyCrest (Capital Region Etsy Sellers Team) on Saturday, Feb 16th, at Carroll Baldwin Hall in Savage, MD. Savage Arts Festival, Savage MD
Do you make custom jewelry?
Absolutely. I love to do custom work and unique sets! I even do custom bridal jewelry so that your accessories can be just as special as your wedding. Check out my custom ordering page HERE.
What metals do you use?
All wire, findings, metal beads and clasps are .925 Sterling Silver unless otherwise noted in an item's description. .925 is an industry standard alloy for fine silver items. Any silver item described as Hill Tribe Silver is actually closer to 99% pure silver and therefore will be a slightly whiter color, with a softer composition.
What other materials do you use?
I use all kinds of great beads and findings. Semi-precious gemstones are fun to work with and lend themselves to earthy, modern designs. Amazonite, Jaspers, even Amethyst and Peridot are considered semi-precious stones. I also use handmade and machined glass beads, and genuine Swarovski crystals. Whenever possible, I list any alteration to a stone from it's natural state. Some stones, like amber, are always heat treated in order to get the familiar orangey color. I do not knowingly use dyed stones.
How are your wire-wrapped pieces constructed?
All of our wire-wrapped loop jewelry is made from straight, round sterling silver wire. That's it! Every single loop and connection is shaped individually by hand.
This method of construction not only makes each piece a unique work of art, but also creates a durable piece of jewelry that will last a lifetime. Whenever possible, all components and clasps are also wire-wrapped directly to the necklace or bracelet, forging a strong piece of art that has no weak points.
Can I buy directly through the internet?
Yes, I have a safe and secure store, located at: www.MintTrim.etsy.com. You can browse all the jewelry I have for immediate purchase, see my rating and feedback from other buyers, and order using any major credit card or check card through Paypal. You will need to make an etsy account (takes less than 3 minutes), but you do NOT need a paypal account in order to pay with your Visa or Mastercard. Creating an etsy account is important so that I have your address to ship the item, and so that you can leave feedback about your experience.
How do I pay with Paypal?
You do NOT need to have a paypal account in order to pay with a major credit card or check card. Ordering is easy. Place an Item in your cart at Etsy, and follow the steps indicated to check out. Etsy does not accept payments directly, but will link you to the PayPal site in order to finish paying for your purchase. You have not completed the transaction until you have entered your credit card and shipping information at Paypal and received an itemized receipt. If you have any questions about the ordering process, please contact us at customerservice@MintTrim.com.
Why do you use Etsy & PayPal instead of running your own Shopping Cart?
At this time, the extra steps required to make purchases through PayPal are very simple, and provide strong security for our customers. Besides, we love the community at Etsy and wish to encourage more people to "Buy Handmade". If you prefer not to use either of these sites, no problem! I can also accept payment via personal check, although it will take up to 10 days to verify your check before your item is mailed to you.
What method do you use for shipping?
All items are packaged in a kraft gift box with custom Mint Trim stamp and green ribbon. I ship USPS priority mail for the prices listed with each item in my store. Items that are shipping with another item at full shipping price are automatically discounted. If you require a faster delivery, indicate your preferred shipping method in your order notes and do not submit payment until I send you a modified invoice. Make sure that the email address in your Etsy account is correct so that I can contact you with the new invoice.
